At Drs. Vance and Stovall, we do our best to create a relaxed environment featuring the latest styles and trends in eyewear, and state-of-the-art automated equipment.

Our staff is committed to excellence in all we do. Whether it's a routine exam, purchasing some new frames, or something a bit more complicated, you can feel confident knowing that we will always treat you with the respect and dignity you deserve.


Dr. Mark Stovall

A native of Louisville, Dr. Mark D. Stovall did his undergraduate work at the University of Louisville. Dr. Stovall was an honors graduate and a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He received his doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. During his externship, Dr. Stovall received specialty training in contact lenses at the University of Memphis, low vision at the Memphis Low Vision Clinic and pediatric optometry at the Memphis Family Vision Clinic.

Dr. Stovall is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kentucky Optometric Association. He has been married for over twenty five years to his wife Melissa and has two grown children, Maggie and Allison. Dr. Stovall enjoys travel, especially to the beach, and is an avid runner and golfer.

Dr. Kathy Vance

Dr. Kathy Vance

Dr. Kathy Vance attended both The University Of Kentucky and UCLA for her Bachelors Degree. She received her Doctorate from The Southern California College Of Optometry where she did specialty training in ocular disease detection. She practices integrative Optometry: conventional medicine blended with a healing approach that evaluates the whole person including lifestyle, diet and nutritional supplements. She was engaged as a consultant by Ciba Novartis Pharmaceutical Company, was published as the sole interviewee by the American Academy of Refractive Surgeons, was the Governor appointed Vision Care Physician for the Ky. Board Of Opticians, and has many television appearances as the Eye and Vision Expert on Louisville's local news.

Dr. Vance currently spends much of her time in Arizona where she is an Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University.

Dr. Angela Buchanan

Dr. Angela Buchanan received her undergraduate degree in science from Indiana University Bloomington and her doctorate from Indiana University School of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana optometric Association. She has presented research papers at the American Academy of Optometry annual meeting. She has also volunteered on two mission trips to Gunanjuato , Mexico to perform eye exams.

Dr. Buchanan is married to her middle school sweetheart Ryan. They have two Jack Russell terriers Chloe, and Jaxon. In her spare time she loves to travel.

Vision Fact:

The American Optometric Association recommends eye examinations at ages 1, 3, & 5. Children do not know how well they are supposed to see, so only a professional examination can rule out visual difficulties.
